Casco Bay High School students are spending part of the school day listening to Marvin Gaye with
317 Partnership Program Educator Jeff Christmas. The junior class is headed to Detroit, Michigan in April for a service work expedition, during which time they’ll interview Motor City residents and create short documentaries. Because Motown is such an integral part of the city’s story, CBHS asked 317 to provide some historical and cultural context for the music. 317 teaching artist John McCain will join the project later on to help students incorporate the Motown sound into their final presentations.
