School Break Camps
February 16th through 20th
Discovery Camp
April 20th through 24th
17 Main’s Discovery Camp (Ages 6 - 9) is a great fit for curious musicians, whether they’ve already had some experience playing an instrument, or are beginners who are eager to try new instruments! Campers will gain playing experience on the piano, ukulele, fiddle and more as they learn in a welcoming small group setting. In addition to instrumental classes, campers will participate in fun workshops, games, and activities led by our exceptional 317 Main Teaching Artists. Each camp week culminates with a Friday afternoon performance that showcases the students’ learning and new skills on each instrument.
Little Roots Camp
Little Roots Camp (birthday between 10/16/20- 10/16/22) revolves around making music with our voices and instruments (many of which we make ourselves!). Our campers will start the day with our music class; growing our musical skills by learning songs by ear and keeping a steady beat, moving to music, and playing instruments. After snack and outdoor play time, campers reconvene to build their own instruments. Campers conclude their day with a musical story time before heading home at noon. Friday concludes with an informal concert where children share the music they learned and the instruments they made during camp with their families.
