Where curiosity becomes craft.

At 317 Main, music isn’t just learned—it’s lived. Our recording studio program extends that promise, offering musicians of all ages a welcoming, professional space to explore their voice, capture their sound, and grow as artists.

Designed especially with students in mind, the studio is both a classroom and a creative laboratory. Whether you’re recording your first song, developing a portfolio for college, or collaborating with bandmates, this is a place to experiment boldly, refine your work, and shape ideas into something lasting.

The studio isn’t about perfection; it’s about possibility. It’s where young players discover what they can do. Where adults return to a long-quiet dream. Where teaching, listening, and making evolve together, guided by people who know that the process matters as much as the product.

We invite you to step inside—listen closely, take risks, and make something all your own.

Recording sessions begin at $70/hour (2-hour minimum).

Your Guide in the Studio

Joe Beninati, Studio Manager

Every great recording experience begins with a trusted partner. Here, that partner is Joe Beninati—a seasoned drummer, producer, and educator whose lifelong devotion to music shapes every session.

Joe brings a rare combination of depth, warmth, and technical expertise. Trained in percussion, theory, composition, and digital production, he’s spent more than twenty-five years performing across genres—from jazz and rock to funk, pop, and folk—alongside celebrated musicians and local creatives alike. His approach is grounded, curious, and deeply human: he listens first, sets artists at ease, and invites them into a process where learning and creating unfold together.

For students, Joe is a mentor who demystifies the studio and helps young musicians find their voice. For seasoned musicians, he is an experienced collaborator who can translate ideas into finished work with honesty and care.

Joe believes the studio is an instrument—and that anyone, at any stage, deserves access to a space where their music can take shape.
