Diana Hansen
Teaches: Voice
Diana is a seasoned vocalist, rhythm guitar player and singer/songwriter. With a focus on jazz vocals, Diana sings a variety of styles: blues, contemporary folk, pop, and jazz. She performs throughout New England and Germany as both a soloist and in various ensembles. She currently performs with: “Night & Day," a Latin/jazz ensemble; “Blue Willow," a six-piece wedding/function band; the Diana Hansen Trio with Bill Hansen on bass and George Maxwell on electric guitar; and as a soloist. Diana has been performing for over thirty years. She studied voice for four years in Germany and received an Associates Degree in Jazz and Contemporary Music from the University of Maine at Augusta. She holds a masters degree in Music Education and teaches General Music at Lunt School in Falmouth, Maine. Diana’s teaching focuses on voice placement, building excellent tone, and performance strategies.
Diana has released two albums: one a collection of original songs called “Bringing Me Up;" and the second a live recording with “Night & Day” performed at St. Bartholomew’s Church in Yarmouth. She released a CD of all original material in 2012. Diana has shared the stage with Jonathan Edwards, Aztec Two Step, Holly Near, Kate Clinton, and Tret Fure. She was the featured performer at the popular Portland Museum of Art Sunday Brunch for over ten years.
