Recapping Our Summer Deck Concert Series at 317 Main
Community members on the John Williams Front Porch listening to Charlie Moore
As we move full steam ahead into fall with classes, workshops, lessons, and more, we can’t stop thinking about how incredible summer was here at 317, in particular our Summer Deck Concert Series. All season long, we spent our Thursday evenings out on the John Williams Front Porch, enjoying music from all over our area and enjoying each other's company. Each week brought new experiences, sunshine (most of the time!), and the hum of community connection.
The Summer Deck Concert Series is one of the many experiences at 317 that bring our mission to life, demonstrating the magical combination of the importance of music in bringing people together. Kids played and ran barefoot across the grass, neighbors caught up over beers, cocktails, and mocktails, and new friendships were made while sharing fresh Maine oysters. Even on the rainiest deck concert of the summer, our communities showed up and the energy didn’t dip for a second—we simply squeezed into the cafe and listened to Follow the Crows, and we didn’t care that the floor was a little wet. We all cozied up together, and people shared tables, chairs and drinks. It was one of those moments where you could feel the depth and warmth of 317.
This marquee program wouldn’t be possible without the collaboration with the Fox and Fiddle Cafe by Black Tie Catering and the support of our annual fund—As a result, these events that were free, festive, and full of heart—just the way we like it. If you agree that shared experiences lead to more dynamic, resilient, and stronger communities, support programming like this and so much more by making a gift to 317. It’s an easy and impactful way to ensure accessible events for all, and we appreciate your support.

We were proud to feature an incredible lineup of bands this summer, representing a range of genres and ages:
Front Porch String Band
Ben Woods & Loose Threads
Follow the Crows
Yarmouth High School Jazz Band
Ted DeMille and Taylor Smith
In fact, we were having so much fun that we didn’t want it to end. So, we extended the deck concert series and added one more show in September. We spent an early Friday evening with the White Mountain Ramblers, which ended in a dance party on the front porch. It was the perfect send-off to a season that had already given us so much.
While we’re a little sad to see summer go, we’re also incredibly excited for what’s ahead. The sense of community we’ve built together over these months is carrying us forward into our fall and winter events. Whether you’re joining us for classes, jams, workshops, or concerts, you are a vital part of what makes 317 Main such a special place.
Here’s to more music, more connection, and more nights like these.
