10:00 Little Roots Family Class

Little Roots Family classes invite children and their trusted grownups to learn simple songs, rhymes, and movement activities in a way that fosters musical expression.  Incorporate these activities into home routines throughout the week, planting the seeds for a lifelong love of music.

11:00 Music Therapy Session Demonstration

Robbie Neeb will present on music therapy and share about the new program starting at 317 Main. Music therapy is defined as using music to achieve non-musical goals. Robbie will discuss how music therapy can have a positive impact on you or your loved one and give demonstrations of music therapy interventions. Join Robbie for an interactive session involving group drumming, improvisation, and songwriting and see what music therapy is all about!

12:00pm Adult World Dance Class

Come sample the richness of the music & movement of traditional community dances from diverse countries.  At 317 Main’s Open House, Kathleen Carroll will explain what “World Dance” is and guide you step-by-step through several dances. Making mistakes is part of the process.....and so is laughter, as your ears and feet adjust to varied rhythms and musical styles.  If you love being exposed to music from other cultures and are game to challenge your feet, you’ll enjoy this “World Dance Sampler”.  Please bring clean-soled, non-street shoes to change into.  You don’t need a partner or prior dance experience to participate.
