People trained classically in vocal technique often feel stymied when switching to more contemporary styles of music. In this workshop, 317 Main Teaching Artist Kathy Slack will guide students through healthy ways singers can manipulate the soft pallet, laryngeal, mouth, facial and other muscular changes to create various sounds. These changes open up the door to singing all styles of repertoire in a healthier way, eliminating vocal tension and preventing vocal fold (chord) damage.
