Suggested for string students 9-16 years old with at least 1 year of playing experience (or referral from teacher). Join 317 Main for a one-of-a-kind string instrument workshop led by world renowned composer Daniel Bernard Roumain. From his website: "Daniel Bernard Roumain (DBR) is a Black, Haitian-American composer who sees composing as collaboration with artists, organizations and communities within the farming and framing of ideas. He is a prolific and endlessly collaborative composer, performer, educator, and social entrepreneur." Students will have the opportunity to collaborate and compose a piece in collaboration with DBR=, with an informal performance at the conclusion of the workshop. If you have questions about whether this workshop is suitable for your child or musician, please reach out to Director of Music Education, Alicia Phelps, at alicia@317main.org.
