Jawahir Arabic Music Ensemble

Jawahir Arabic Music Ensemble performs classical and popular Arabic and Ottoman music of the 17thto the 21st centuries. The group features Maria Wagner on nay, Duncan Hardy on qanun, Madeleine Hannaon voice and oud, and Dorothy Barker on riqq, darbuka and duff. Jawahir means ‘jewels’ in Arabic and the group endeavors to uncover and share some of the rich variety of musical traditions from the Middle East, both past and present.

Special Event: Mandolin Masterclass with Carlo Aonzo

Here's an amazing opportunity to learn from one of the world's great mandolin performers and educators, in person! Mandolin virtuoso Carlo Aonzo, from Savona, Italy, will be teaching a masterclass at 317 Main Community Music Center in Yarmouth on Monday, March 10, from 6:00-8:00pm. Geared to a wide variety of levels, Carlo will focus on exploring the fingerboard, useful exercises, improving technique and musicality, and more. Don’t miss this rare opportunity to learn and experience the mandolin at it’s finest.

Open to the public. Workshop fee is $50.
